Xbox's Biggest Hit Of 2024 May Already Be Getting A Sequel

One of the biggest hits of 2024 for Xbox, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, may already have a follow-up in development. Xbox's Phil Spencer previously stated that "We do think there's life in that franchise, and I'm just gonna leave it at that," when asked about a potential Great Circle sequel. The Xbox version of the game reportedly had over four million players by the end of January 2025, and with the game recently released on PlayStation 5, it seems like developer MachineGames is gearing up to make another Indiana Jones adventure.

According to a job posting by MachineGames, the studio is hiring a senior concept artist, which could imply that an Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sequel is now in development (via Tech4Gamers). A DLC expansion for the original game called The Order of Giants is scheduled for release on September 4, so it seems unlikely that this job posting is for that, given how soon that DLC is releasing.

Two items of note in the job description are: "Experience working in the game and/or film industry" and "being familiar with the industry of entertainment (such as films)." This wording could imply that this...
