It has been announced that Apex Legends will release on Steam next month.
On the Apex Legends website, it was announced that Apex Legends will release for Steam on November 4th. This is the same day that the game's seventh Season will begin. It was revealed that those who have been playing Apex Legends on Origins will be able to transfer all their save state over to Steam. All account progression and unlocks will be transferable between the two platforms.
It was also revealed that the Switch version of Apex Legends has been delayed. According to the news post, this was done in order to give the team behind Apex Legends more time to do the game justice.
"Second, for those who game on the Nintendo Switch, we're still hard at work on the port, but in order to do justice to the game and make it into the great experience Switch players deserve, our team need more time," the post reads. "This year has brought on unexpected new challenges, to put it mildly, and we don't wan to to rush anything out.
"Switch owners can expect to get their hands on Apex Legends next year. And of course, when Apex Legends does launch on Switch, it'll come with support for cross-platform play, our latest seasonal content, and full feature parity with the other versions of the game."
Apex Legends is currently in the middle of its Fight or Fright Halloween event. During the event, gamers can play a limited time mode called Shadow Royale. In this mode, fallen squadmates come back as Shadows, and will have a brutal melee attack, enhanced mobility, and blistering speed. Shadows can use these abilities to terrorize other squads or protect their own. Players will also be able to complete challenges to earn haunting rewards, and can visit the store for Halloween cosmetics. Fight or Fright will run until November 3rd.
Apex Legends is available now for PC via Origin, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game will release for Steam next month, and for the Nintendo Switch next year.
