A massive League of Legends tournament is taking place this week during the 2025 Esports World Cup, and a dominant contending team might end up taking it all and defeating the defending champions. T1 is a defending South Korean LoL team, led by one of the best players in the world, "Faker." A strong contender, however, could put T1's legacy in the tournament at risk.
According to a report from Field Level Media, Esports team Gen.G may be on its way to defeating LoL defending champions, T1, in the 2025 Esports World Cup. Gen. G is currently undefeated after 23 straight wins this year. The tournament is taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with 12 teams competing for a share of the $2 million prize pool, in one of the biggest Esports tournaments in the world.
