It's been several days since PlayStation hosted a dedicated Ghost of Yotei State of Play, where the upcoming PlayStation 5 title received a number of updates, including news of a mode in honor of "Samurai Champloo" and "Cowboy Bebop" director, Shinichirō Watanabe, along with information that the PlayStation 5 Pro will finally get custom plates.
Ghost of Tsushima launched on this day in 2020, and changed open-world games in small but profound ways.
Still, that hasn't stopped news about the game from continuing to receive updates, including word on a removal of a key gameplay mechanic from the original Ghost of Tsushima.
In a new interview with GamesRadar, creative directors Nate Fox and Jason Connell discussed more about the upcoming game, including some of the innovations, such as not needing to travel to various map icons to meet with quest characters or merchants. That innovation also extends to the combat itself, where stances have been completely removed and replaced with various weapons.
"With Yotei, we've added a lot more layers to create a more improvisational feel to the combat," Fox shared. "It's deep! We've replaced the stance system with weapons – in fact, we added a fifth [weapon] –...
