A new Max Raid event has begun in Pokémon Sword and Shield

November's Max Raid event in Pokémon Sword and Shield is currently underway (via GameSpot). In November, certain Bug- and Poison-type Pokémon will appear more frequently in Max Raid battles. Until November 30th, players will have a better chance to run into the following Pokémon and their pre-evolutions: Butterfree, Shuckle, Ninjask, Vileplume, Toxicroak, and Garbodor. Players can refresh their Raid dens with the new event Pokémon by connecting to the Y-Comm online or by going into the Mystery Gift option and selecting Get the Wild Area News.

On top of the aforementioned Pokémon, players will have the chance of running into two Gigantamax forms during the month of November. Throughout the event, there will be a better chance of encountering both Gigantamax Butterfree and Gigantamax Garbodor. Gigantamax Pokémon are usually very difficult to find outside of events, so players should take advantage of this opportunity to add these Pokémon to their collections.

Late last month the latest expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield, The Crown Tundra, released. The expansion added a wealth of content to Sword and Shield, including a good number of older Pokémon that were not available in the base version of the games, as well as a new open area for players to explore. New Galarian forms were added to the game, including new forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. The expansion also added a few new Legendary Pokémon, and introduced every Legendary Pokémon to ever appear in the series for players to catch. The Crown Tundra added a new feature called Dynamax Adventures, which has players delve into a Pokémon den with the hopes of running into a Legendary Pokémon at the end. To get to the end, however, players have to face three Dynamaxed Pokémon on the way.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are available for the Nintendo Switch. The expansions for the game's, The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra, are available now, and make up the Sword and Shield Expansion Pass.
