The developers of Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles have weighed in on which game in the series is the best game in the series to start with, even if you've never played a Final Fantasy game before. The Final Fantasy series has always been characterized by change: each new game is different from the last, making it more of an anthology series, apart from the occasional direct sequel. That approach has created some of the greatest RPGs of all time, but it's also made it difficult for newcomers to pick a place to start.
Speaking of The Ivalice Chronicles, the upcoming remake's producer, Shoichi Matsuzawa, said in an interview with PlayStation Blog, "This is a great game to start with if you’re new to the Final Fantasy series, so I hope you will give it a go... we hope you take this opportunity to experience the rich world of Ivalice." Matsuzawa and other developers also took the time to detail their approach towards remaking FF Tactics, along with some strategies for new players to consider.
