Characters in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will have more dialogue when compared to the original release. Scheduled to be released for PC and consoles in September, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is an extended remaster that promises to add plenty of helpful quality of life updates and improvements to streamline the popular tactical title for modern audiences.

Released in North America in 1998, Final Fantasy Tactics was the first game in the Tactics sub-series and has become a cult classic in the decades following its launch, with many fans dubbing it one of the greatest games ever made. While fans were thrilled when a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster was announced during the June 2025 State of Play presentation, not all news related to the upcoming title has been well-received, as some content has been confirmed to be missing from the game. This includes sections from The War of the Lions, the title's 2007 PSP release, which brought new in-game cutscenes and characters to the classic game. However, a new announcement may assuage some additional fears regarding The Ivalice Chronicles and its beloved characters.
