Fire Emblem has been one of Nintendo's more consistently-supported series in recent years, as anyone that's ever played Super Smash Bros. can probably tell you. Even outside of that, we've had two major Fire Emblem games released in the past six years, those being Three Houses in 2019, and Engage in 2023, both well-liked games for different reasons.

When it comes to game development, a roughly four-year gap between games is considered pretty speedy, so with that kind of output, it's sensible for people to start wondering when the next Fire Emblem might be coming. According to one developer's portfolio, it could be here sooner rather than later.

First spotted by a Reddit user called Andree1234 and shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, a developer named Taksehi Maruyama claims to currently be doing some 3D character modeling for Nintendo as a contractor. Pretty standard stuff, but he also seems to mention exactly what game he's working on, as the description for the job claims the modeling is for "The sequel of Nintendo's SRPG(Tactical role-playing game) on Switch2".
