Success can be determined in many different ways, but the success of the Nintendo Switch 2 cannot be denied. It’s true that total numbers for the console or its launch title haven’t been revealed yet, but that’s not stopping places like Famitsu from revealing how well the system is doing in Japan! We’ve talked before about how the Switch 2 is dominating Japan, and it’s not even close, and the newest numbers back that up while also highlighting even more records being broken. In this case, as noted by Yomiuri, the system sold at least 1.5 million units in Japan during its first month.

If you’re wondering what we mean by “at least,” that’s because Yomiuri and Famitsu were only able to get verification from retail chain stores in the country and not from Nintendo itself. That’s important, as the company sold a bunch of Nintendo Switch 2 units via its own stores and Nintendo Online service. Thus, while likely not a LOT higher, it’s fair to think the number is much greater.
