Niantic has revealed its new Pokemon GO Fossil Research Day event will be held this August with event-themed Field Research tasks and several event bonuses. Like other Pokemon GO events, the new Research Day event presents a valuable opportunity for players missing out on certain Pokemon while giving veteran Pokemon Trainers another chance to catch their next Shiny.
