CD Projekt Red has assured fans that Cyberpunk 2077 will release in December.

A rumor had recently begun circulating that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed again, quite possibly into sometime in 2021. The game was recently delayed from its November release date to December. However, CD Projekt Red has released a statement to IGN affirming that their game will release in December despite what the rumors are now suggesting.

"As a rule, we don't comment on rumors or speculation," a CD Projekt Red representative told IGN. "But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th."

Late last month CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed from its November release date into December. According to the developer, the delay was to allow them time to test every version of the the game coming out, and making sure that the title runs smoothly on every platform. They also stated that this is difficult with the team having to working from home. However, they do feel that the extra 21 days of development time will allow them to finish the work that need to put into the game to make sure that it is ready for all platforms to play smoothly.

Cyberpunk being delayed until December was a bit of a surprise. Cyberpunk 2077 had gone gold in early October, which is usually an indicator that the game is completed and ready to ship. The game had gone gold after CD Projekt Red had announced that the team had entered crunch time to get the game ready on time, which ultimately ended up upsetting some people.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on December 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia.
