Bethesda isn't done with Starfield yet, after a new promise of future updates coming later this year was made. Since the release of the game's first (and currently only) major expansion in September last year, a lot of the game's community has turned to mods for additional content and support, after many found the DLC underwhelming and the long wait times in between updates frustrating. But now, it looks like the game may be getting a revitalizer sometime soon.
According to a post on X from the official Bethesda Game Studios account, in addition to the beta release of Update 1.15.222, there will be additional updates this year, with the post reading: "Looking ahead, we’re continuing work on future updates and will share more about the exciting things we have planned for Starfield in the coming months." The latest update provides some general stability and crash fixes.
For what these "exciting" updates could be, there are several possibilities. Back in 2024, a potential second DLC expansion called Starborn was leaked.
