LEGO Game Boy Set Officially Announced With Shockingly Affordable Price

Nintendo is getting a new LEGO set based on one of its most popular handheld consoles, and it's not nearly as expensive as might have been expected. There have been some impressive LEGO sets either already released or coming soon this year, like the upcoming One Piece wave on August 1. This new Game Boy set, though, might be one of the best ones yet.

Announced in a post on Nintendo's website, a new LEGO Game Boy set has been revealed and is up for pre-order now over on LEGO. The cost of the set is $59.99, which is a good bit cheaper than previous console collaborations like the NES and Atari 2600. The set officially releases on October 1.

The LEGO model-building kit contains a total of 421 pieces, plus two nostalgic Game Paks, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (which got a remake for the Switch in 2019) and Super Mario Land. The LEGO set has all the iconic design elements of the original Game Boy, including the control pad, A and B buttons, start and select buttons, and even the volume dial.
