Frostpunk 2 Brings Cold Strategy to Consoles in September

11 Bit Studios has announced the release date for the console edition of Frostpunk 2. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 18, the developer revealed, along with a new trailer. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass for Microsoft's consoles on day one.

Surviving the Dire Climate Circumstances

Frostpunk 2 was originally released on PC back in September 2024 as a follow-up to the 2018-released city building survival sim. In both games, players must handle resources to keep a whole city working as it expands and the effects of a never-ending winter impact the livelihood of its citizens. One such element is generating heat and distributing it to the districts, taking into account demand and strategic value.

The simulator expanded on its predecessor's concepts, allowing players to build a larger city and demanding more contact with the citizens. As multiple factions and communities are born within the city, it'll be necessary to negotiate with their representatives to gain alliances and make big changes. Depending on player choice, it may cause discontent among other groups, making it important to think things out carefully.
