Assassin's Creed Valhalla had a very good launch.
In a press release, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla had the most successful launch in the franchise's history. The game sold more units in its first week than all other Assassin's Creed titles. Valhalla was also the most successful PC launch for Ubisoft ever.
"We are truly delighted by the enthusiastic response from players and want to thank the fans for their incredible support," stated Julien Laferriere, producer of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. "Delivering this game amid a global pandemic was a true tour de force by our teams and it's fantastic to see players enjoying the game so much. Launch is only the beginning and we have robust content plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that will keep players immersed in their epic Viking saga for a long time to come."
Ubisoft also gave a few statistics for player progress in Valhalla. Players have already covered more than 4 kilometers and have unlocked more than 55 million buildings since launch. Over 3.5 million games of Orlog have been won so far, and over 1.8 million players have won at least one drinking game since Valhalla launched.
It has been revealed that Prime Gaming members can unlock a Gear Pack in Valhalla. Players can unlock the in-game bonus by linking their Ubisoft Connect and Amazon Prime accounts (which can be done here). After doing so, they will receive the Carolingian Dynasty Gear Pack. The pack comes with a Gear Set, a mount, a raven skin, a shield, a weapon, a naval skin set, and a naval prop set.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. The game currently holds an OpenCritic Mighty rating, along with a Top Critic Average of 84 and a 91% Critics Recommendation.
