Bandai Namco's Anime MMORPG Blue Protocol Returns With New Beta

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance has opened sign-ups for its latest closed beta test. Players eager to try the second take on Bandai Namco's anime MMORPG ahead of time have until mid-August 2025 to register their interest in doing so, with the Blue Protocol: Star Resonance beta being set to kick off shortly afterward.

In December 2022, Bandai Namco partnered with Amazon Games to bring Blue Protocol to the West. However, the Japanese gaming giant shut down the game in January 2025, before this plan could materialize. With the shutdown already confirmed and pending, developer Shanghai Baokela Network Technology (SBNT) announced in December 2024 that it was resurrecting the IP with Blue Protocol: Star Resonance, set in the same world as the original but featuring a new cast of characters and an original story. Like the canceled MMO that preceded it, Star Resonance was promised to launch internationally.
