The developer of the Roblox game Grow a Garden has announced plans to make drastic changes by prioritizing "depth" in farming instead of constant events. Grow a Garden recently broke several Roblox records, reaching a whopping 21 million concurrent players at one point.
However, despite Grow a Garden's recent milestones, developer Splitting Point Studios seems dissatisfied with the game's current roadmap. It believes the golden days of the popular farming sim were marked by the team adding more novel updates like Pets, Crafting, and Cosmetics.
In a post on the game's Discord, Grow a Garden's development leader announced Splitting Point Studios' decision to shift the upcoming updates' focus from events to deeper farming and exploration mechanics. "We will add more depth to player farms," the post reads. While major events in Grow a Garden have been a key selling point, the developer sees them as hard to keep fresh. Therefore, going forward, the team will prioritize new gameplay mechanics like Incubators, Fertilizers, Easter eggs, a Garden Encyclopedia, and even new game modes.
