Battlefield 6 has just set the record for Steam's most popular open beta, keeping up the pace of a massively successful beta period so far. The game cleared 300,000 concurrent players while the beta still required a key to access, a requirement that's gone away as of this weekend.

Battlefield 6 set the new Steam beta record with 466,159 concurrent players in-game, as recorded by SteamDB. This outdoes the previous record of 463,798 concurrent players set by the Monster Hunter Wilds beta test. This also brings the game to the 24th-highest concurrent player count of all time on Steam, and the number has continued to climb.

The hype around Battlefield 6 has been undeniable, with promising playtest leaks and a back-to-basics approach assuaging community fears that have built up over the last couple of Battlefield releases.
