Epic Games Scores Massive Court Victory Over Apple & Google

Fortnite developer Epic Games is no stranger to litigation, and the latest court ruling is a big win in its favor. Epic has been arguing for years against the stipulations that Apple and Google place on their app stores, with high fees cutting significantly into app profits for developers. While Epic's ongoing litigation has faced some setbacks, the overall result of the newest update is certainly in the developer's favor.

As reported by Reuters, an Australian court found that Apple and Google app stores limit competition, supporting one of the biggest premises of Epic's complaints. The ruling wasn't entirely in Epic's favor, as the court didn't support the idea that Apple or Google have acted in intentional violation of the law. Nonetheless, it's primarily a win for Epic, and the company announced on X that the mobile Epic Games Store and Fortnite will now be coming to iOS in Australia.
