Dice’s lead Battlefield producer, David Sirland, has teased that larger maps than the ones seen in the open beta will be available in Battlefield 6. This is great news for Battlefield 6 fans who want more variety when playing the popular first-person shooter.

Battlefield 6 will be officially released on October 10, 2025, but fans already had a chance to try EA’s shooter during the recent open beta, which lasted from August 9 to 10, and will occur again between August 14 and 17. The first Battlefield 6 Open Beta weekend was a huge hit, becoming the “biggest ever,” according to EA. While no official numbers were shared, Battlefield 6 peaked at over 521,000 concurrent players on Steam.

Something that a few players noticed, however, was that the maps available in the Open Beta were fairly small. So, when a gamer complained about it, Dice’s David Sirland answered that “speed is a factor of map size.” In addition, he said that Dice picked the maps available in the beta to give the “full-octane version” of Battlefield 6 to fans.
