Resident Evil Fans, Mark Your Calendars For August 19

Resident Evil fans should be prepared for August 19, as it's bound to be an exciting day for Resident Evil Requiem. The game isn't releasing until February 27, 2026, but anticipation for the newest entry in the beloved survival horror franchise is already reaching a fever pitch, and has reportedly already smashed two franchise records. Fans have been eager to learn more about lead protagonist Grace Ashcroft, the gameplay, and more, and we may learn a lot more soon.

According to Geoff Keighley on X, there will be an exclusive new look at Resident Evil Requiem during Gamescom opening night next Tuesday, August 19. The pre-show will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT and will be available to stream on YouTube and Twitch via thegameawards accounts.

RE Requiem has been confirmed to be playable at Gamescom, so this new footage should give us a better look at gameplay and major story events. There are two big questions on a lot of fans' minds going into Gamescom. One: Will Leon Kennedy be playable in Requiem after an abundance of rumors? And two: will the Gamescom demo be made public for download during the show? We may get answers...
