The game offerings for the PlayStation Plus service are about to get even larger next week. Another month brings another batch of free games for the various PS Plus membership tiers, and with the free August games including games like Lies of P and DayZ, August is shaping up to be one of the best months yet.
In a post to PlayStation Blog, the PS Plus Game Catalog additions for August have been revealed. All games will be available on August 19, and include Mortal Kombat 1, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, and two survival horror games that have been greatly anticipated.
The two biggest standouts for this month are the additions of the original Resident Evil 2 and 3 to the PlayStation Plus Premium classics catalog. There hasn't been a way to play these classic games on a modern console (excluding PC) before, and with the added up-rendering, rewind feature, and quick saves, this may be the perfect time to try out the original games if fans were impressed with the stellar RE remakes.
