You'll Soon Be Able To Explore Sicily As Mafia: The Old Country Is Getting A Free Roam Mode

With Mafia: The Old Country finally out, and the game coming in at a modest $49.99, instead of the $59.99, $69.99 or worse, the dreaded $79.99 price point, gamers are already finishing up the main campaign, even after it was reported that the game wouldn't be short.

That said, unlike, say, Grand Theft Auto or even Saints Row, there isn't any meaningful side content for players to burn through. Fortunately, that will be changing in the near future, as developer Hangar 13 has revealed that "Free Ride," a take on the traditional free roam mode, is coming.

As first shared on social media, new activities and gameplay elements will be coming to The Old Country in "Free Ride," though it might be awhile before players get to experience it, as it's been dated for the "coming months." It will, however, be free, which should take some sting out of the wait.

While past Mafia games have taken place in "open worlds," the worlds themselves weren't necessarily rife with activities or side missions. Rather, the open world is more of a vehicle for the story, with some small things here and there to help break up the story missions, like collectibles....
