It has been announced that Neil Druckmann is now Co-President of The Last of Part II developer Naughty Dog.

In an update from Naughty Dog, it was revealed that Neil Druckmann has been promoted from Naughty Dog's position of Vice President to Co-President. It was also revealed that Alison Mori and Christian Gyrling will now take Druckmann's place as Vice Presidents.

"Neil Druckmann now joins me as Co-President of Naughty Dog, after serving almost three years as Vice President," President of Naughty Dog Evan Wells stated. "In addition, we're welcoming Alison Mori and Christian Gyrling as Vice Presidents of Naughty Dog. Prior to becoming Vice President, Alison served as our director of operations and Christian served as our Co-Director of Programming.

"We have such an incredible team at Naughty Dog and being able to work alongside each and every one of them is especially meaningful these days. I feel proud of the team when I'm able to recognize their accomplishments and contributions to the studio. Please join me in giving them all a big congratulations!"

Along with being Co-President of Naughty Dog, Druckmann will also serve as an executive producer of the upcoming The Last of Us TV show from HBO. He will produce the show alongside Craig Mazin of Chernobyl fame and Carolyn Strauss. Druckmann will pen the series alongside Mazin. It is not known how the TV series will adapt the plot of the original game, and what kind of changes will be made when the story transitions from video game to TV show. There has been word that elements of The Last of Us Part II may make their way into the series, though it is vague on how much of the game will be included.

The Last of Us Part II is available now for the PlayStation 4. While a full PlayStation 5 upgrade of the game has not been released, the title does gain some benefits when played on the new console through backwards compatibility. This includes use of the DualSense's adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
