After a last week's leak, Persona 5 Strikers has been officially announced for the West.
Last week it was leaked that Persona 5 Strikers would be coming to the West in February. Today publisher Atlus officially announced that Persona 5 Strikers will release in the U.S. on February 23rd. The game's trailer was also dropped. The game will release for the PlayStation 4, as well as PC and the Nintendo Switch. The game will be playable on the PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility with the PlayStation 4 version.
There will be two versions of Strikers. Along with the Standard version, there will be a Digital Deluxe version as well (via GameSpot). The Deluxe edition will come with a digital artbook, the game's soundtrack, behind the scenes videos, legacy soundtracks that will include music from the first four Persona games, and in-game items. The Digital Deluxe version also allows gamers to play the title four days early on February 19th. Those who buy physical versions of the game at GameStop will receive a pin. The physical edition of the Switch version of the game will include a Steelbook if purchased from Best Buy.
Persona 5 Strikers is a musou type-title, where players will be taking on droves of enemies. While the game is a musou styled title, it does keep aspects of Persona 5's RPG combat systems. Strikers keeps the team-based combat, as well as elemental affinities, all-out attacks, persona abilities, and the original game's art style. Strikers' story picks up after Persona 5's conclusion, and will include new characters that were not featured in the base game. The social aspect found in Persona titles will also be included, as players will be able to explore various cities in Japan with other members of the Phantom Thieves.
Persona 5 Strikers will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch on February 23rd.
