The Bazaar's Imminent Steam Launch Has Been Ruined By Censorship Accusations

The Bazaar is set to launch on Steam on August 13, but there's much more going on behind the scenes than new players may realise.

The Bazaar was originally envisioned as a free-to-play 'hero builder' where you wouldn't have to pay for heroes, and most of the revenue would be generated by cosmetics. The game's monetisation has changed a lot since the game was released in closed beta last year, with the most recent change being the most dramatic of all.

Less than a week ago, The Bazaar developer Tempo announced the game would be shifting away from a free-to-play model to a "premium experience" that will cost $45. You don't get the entire library of content for the price of entry, however.

The base game will launch with three heroes: Vanessa, Pygmalien and Dooley, and additional heroes will be unobtainable with in-game currency, and will instead cost $20 per hero. The Bazaar has also confirmed that a future player-to-player marketplace feature has been cancelled, rendering cosmetic duplicates worthless.
