Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 Shows Up With Bombastically Weird Trailer At Gamescom 2025

Earlier today, gaming fans around the world were treated to Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live, the curtain raiser for Gamescom 2025. One thing we knew going in was that Xbox and Activision would be showing off the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. However, what we were shown was much weirder than I expected.

Take a look at the latest trailer below:

As expected for Call of Duty, this is a highly cinematic, bombastic trailer also featuring snippets of gameplay. However, what caught me by surprise is just how far into the weird Black Ops 7 campaign seems to be heading, and I’m all for it.

With what looks like shifting realities, sci-fi elements, and more. It doesn’t really feel like a Black Ops game, and at first glance looks like it has more in common with Infinite Warfare in terms of gameplay, since we see robots, jetpacks, and more futuristic-style weapons at times throughout the trailer. It’s important to mention that the trailer also shows flashes of zombie mode and what looks like multiplayer, but the bulk of it seemed to focus on the single-player campaign.
