Black Myth: Wukong was one of 2024's biggest surprises. It achieved staggering numbers on Steam, becoming the single-player game with the highest concurrent player count of all time, was looked at favorably by critics, and earned itself a Game of the Year nod at last year's Game Awards.

Given that the official Black Myth: Wukong account tweeted about it days before, we knew that Game Science would be appearing in some way, shape, or form at this year's Gamescom. What we didn't know was what the team would be revealing, but that's now become clear as we got our first look at Black Myth Zhong Kui.

Black Myth: Wukong took Gamescom 2023 by storm. Regular four-hour queues meant I didn't get to play the game, but the fact that people were willing to wait that long showed the hype the game had generated. Now, GameScience is back for more, revealing a teaser trailer for Black Myth: Zhong Kui to close out the show.
