One of 2024's best games got some exciting surprise news today. If you've been wondering when Black Myth: Wukong would finally be getting a follow-up game, the answer is a lot sooner than you expected.

In a surprise Gamescom announcement, Game Science revealed that Black Myth: Zhong Kui will be the next title in the Black Myth series. The game will feature an all-new protagonist, and it's another single-player RPG rooted in ancient Chinese folklore that expands on the Black Myth saga.

Today's reveal of Black Myth: Zhong Kui will be exciting news for fans of the original from Game Science, which released to massive success back in 2024. The upcoming entry in the Black Myth franchise will follow in the original's footsteps, only focused on a completely different protagonist and folk story.

Zhong Kui is another Chinese folklore hero, and the game will follow his journey in a similar retelling of the original folk story.
