Despite the seemingly positive news, the announcement post has been inundated with Infinity Nikki players demanding an apology from Infold instead, accusing the company of using the collab as a distraction to drown out voices calling out for more accountability.
Infinity Nikki has been mired in controversy since the release of version 1.5, which drastically altered the tutorial section for the worse, discontinued a popular free 5-star set, and introduced a monetization system that made obtaining a complete dress especially difficult for free-to-play players. This was compounded by numerous bugs, login issues, and performance problems that rendered the game virtually unplayable on certain platforms. The backlash prompted Infold to ban the term “boycott” on its social media channels, adding fuel to the fire as the community initiated a “girlcott” in response.
