Pokémon GO's First Community Day in 2021 Will Star Machop

Pokémon GO's first Community Day for the year 2021 will center around the Fighting-type Pokémon, Machop.

It has been announced that Pokémon GO's first Community Day next year will take place on January 16th. The event will center around Machop, and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, players will run into Machop more frequently in the wild, with the chance of a Shiny one appearing. If players evolve a Machoke (Machop's evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward, they will receive a Machamp that know the move Payback. Players can also get a surprise if they take a few snapshots during Community Day. 

For $1, players will be able to access the Machop Community Day-exclusive Special Research Story, Straight to the Top, Machop! Those who purchase a ticket for the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto by Wednesday, January 13th 2021 will receive the Special Research Story for free. There will also be a one-time purchase Machop Community Day box available for 1,280 PokeCoins. The box will include an Elite Charged TM, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and 30 Ultra Balls. 

Starting on December 22nd, Pokémon GO will be holding a Holiday event. The event will last through December 31st. During this time, Pikachu, Delibird, and Cubchoo will appear in the wild wearing holiday-themed costumes. Ice-type Pokemon such as Spheal and Snover will appear in the wild more often, while Vanillite will make its Pokémon GO debut. Seel, Swinub, Smoochum, Snorunt, Snover, and Vanillite will hatch from 5 km Eggs. Ice-type Pokemon such as Alolan Sandshrew, Dewgong, Jynx, and more will appear in raids. Mega Abomasnow will appear in Mega Raids, and will be more powerful during this event. There will be event exclusive Special Research tasks that will reward players with the chance to encounter Pokémon such as Vanillite and Cryogonal. There will be winter-themed avatar items and event-exclusive boxes available in the game's shop during the event. Gamers will also be able to get holiday-themed stickers featuring Alolan Vulpix, Croagunk, and Whimsicott, and more from PokeStops, Gifts, and the shop.
