The patch notes for Genshin Impact's next big update have been released.
The patch notes have been released for Genshin Impact's next big update. Entitled "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon," the update will go live on December 23rd. When the update is released and maintenance on the game's servers are complete, all players will receive 300 Primogems. One of the main features coming in the update is a new area. The new area is called Dragonspine, and will be filled with various puzzles as well as new quests and mechanisms. One of the new mechanics is the Subzero Climate feature. When in Dragonspine, players will continually accumulate Sheer Cold. When Sheer Cold reaches its limit, characters will start to lose HP. There will also be a new domain in Dragonspine: Peak in Vindagnyr. Players can challenge the Domain to earn artifacts from the Blizzard Strayer, Heart of Depth, and other sets.
Another new feature in Dragonspine is the Frostbearing Tree. Players will find Crimson Agates scattered all over Dragonspine, which they can offer to the Frostbearing Tree. Leveling up the Frostbearing Tree will grant players rewards such as Acquaint Fate, Intertwined Fate, a wind glider, Weapon blueprints, and Gadget blueprints.
"The Chalk Prince and the Dragon" will also bring along two new characters with it. The first is a five-star character named "Kreideprinz" Albedo, whose Vision will be Geo, and will utilize a sword. The second five-star character being added to the game is "Plenilune Gaze" Ganyu, whose Vision will be Cryo. Ganyu will wield a bow. There will be a wealth of new equipment, including the new Artifact Sets, Blizzard Strayer and Heart of Depth.
There are also new events coming to Genshin Impact through the upcoming update. The main event will be "The Chalk Prince and the Dragon," and will last until January 5th. There will also be the "Stellar Reunion" event, which will be comprised of four parts. There will also be new Story Quests for Albedo and Ganyu, as well as new World Quests and Commission Quests.
