On August 22, Blizzard revealed the Overwatch 2 Season 18 patch notes, which were highlighted by the arrival of Wuyang as a Support hero and the return of the Summer Games event. The new Overwatch 2 season kicks off on Tuesday, August 26, and will introduce a new hero progression system alongside support for mouse and keyboard controls to all current consoles.

Overwatch 2's Season 18 launch will mark the arrival of Wuyang, a Support hero that uses aquatic powers to heal his allies and push away enemies in a team fight. Wuyang is the 44th playable hero to be included in the Overwatch series, and was originally known under the codename "Aqua" during development. Wuyang had a trial period from August 14 to 18, which allowed Overwatch 2 players to test him out in Quick Play matches.

Along with Wuyang, Overwatch 2 Season 18 will mark the return of a fan-favorite seasonal event.
