Assassin's Creed Announces FREE DLC For A Surprising Game

Assassin's Creed has been focusing on content updates for the most recent game, Shadows, but 2023's Assassin's Creed Mirage will actually be getting a major update later this year. Initially conceived as an expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Mirage took the series back to basics with a smaller, stealth-oriented experience. Aside from equipment and costume packs available at launch, Mirage established from the get-go that DLC wouldn't be coming, but that's finally changed.

Assassin's Creed's official X account announced an update with "new story missions set in 9th century AlUla," along with gameplay improvements across the board. AlUla is an oasis city with a heritage stretching back to 5000 BCE, located in the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While the announcement doesn't offer many details surrounding the surprising addition, it does note that the DLC will be entirely free.

The reveal of new Assassin's Creed Mirage content comes as a general surprise, but a report earlier this year did hint that something was in the works. French financial paper Les Echos reported that Ubisoft had met with the Savvy Games Group, backed by Saudi Arabia's controversial Public Investment Fund, and partnered to produce Assassin's Creed Mirage...
