Few things, aside from maybe shaky performance and frame drops, can ruin a game quicker than having cheaters run rampant, particularly in online games where your skill is often measured up against the competition. Just ask those who were attempting to play the Battlefield 6 Open Beta and were immediately exposed to bad actors.

To help combat that, games have often made use of Kernel Level anti-cheat software that can help detect cheats, bots and other bad entities at the root, and also maybe tell you to uninstall other games.
