Silent Hill and Gravity Rush creator Keiichiro Toyama's new studio, Bokeh Game Studio, are planning to release their first game in 2023.

In an interview with IGN Japan (via IGN), it was revealed that Bokeh Game Studio's new game is a horror action-adventure title, and will be released in 2023. Toyama explained that the game will appeal to his fans, and that the game will feature the "battles and story elements" that can be found in his other titles. Toyama stated that while he has been a first-party Sony developer for the past 20 years, his new game will be multi-platform release.

Bokeh's new title is being developed by a "fairly large" team, with studio cofounder and producer Kazunobu Sato explaining that the game is still in the early stages of development, and is estimated to release in a few years. While the game may be a ways off, Sato and business development manager Yohei Hart promised that the studio's Twitter and Facebook accounts will show peaks of the game's development.

Bokeh Game Studio was founded on August 13th of this year. The studio was publicly announced this month. Regarding the studio's formation, Toyama stated that a combination of remote work during the current pandemic and turning 50 prompted him to think about his future. He also wanted to answer the beckoning call of independence. He turned to longtime coworkers Sato, who produced the Siren series and The Last Guardian, and Junya Okura, who was  the lead level designer on the Siren and Gravity Rush series. Together, the three of them set up Bokeh Game Studio, with Toyama taking the role of Creator, Sato as Producer, and Okura as Game Designer. They first thought of creating smaller mobile games, but increased the scale of their ambitions after building up a team of "mostly veterans."
