Following a revival on consoles and PC via its "Rehydrated" remake version, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom is coming to Android and iOS stores later this month.

Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is the 2020 remake of the 2003 cult classic 3D platformer which launched at the height of the absorbent hero's powers. The remake earned "Fair" reviews when it launched last summer on July 23, with critics citing the lovely remade and recolored levels but wondered if time had passed the game by given its somewhat predictable platforming mechanics.

Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated lets players take control of SponeBob, Patrick, and Sandy across different levels, utilizing their own special abilities. Players will take on bosses, fight jellyfish, and collect "Shiny Things," which certainly tells one the game understands precisely what it wants to be. On mobile, players can se the all-new touch controls or play with a supported controller.

Here's more from the team:

The spongetacular remake of this fan-favorite title will have players battle raging robots with bubble blasting abilities and show the evil Plankton once and for all that the secret formula belongs to no one other than Mr. Krabs himself. Play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy and use each one's unique set of skills. Run, bounce, and underpants-bungee-jump through Bikini Bottom and meet countless characters from the beloved television series. The battle is on!

While the game's name, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated Mobile, keeps getting somehow longer, its price will drop considerably for mobile players. It launches on January 21 for $9.99.
