The latest and final expansion for The Binding of Isaac will be releasing soon.

It has been announced that the next expansion for The Binding of Isaac will be released in March. Entitled Repentance, the expansion will be the final add-on to The Binding of Isaac. According to the Steam page, Repentance will be bigger than a full-blown sequel. However, players will need to own the base game in order to play Repentance. According to the game's listing, the expansion will include the following features:

  • Over 130 new items (more than 700 items in total)
  • A full alternate path that will have brand new chapters and a new final boss and ending
  • Over 100 new enemies
  • Over 25 new bosses
  • 2 new playable characters
  • 5 new challenges
  • Over 100 new achievements
  • Over 5,000 new room designs

The Binding of Isaac first released in 2011. The game follows Isaac, whose mother starts hearing the voice of God, demanding that she sacrifice Isaac. The game sees Isaac escape to his basement, where he is met with a number of horrors. The game is a rogue-like RPG shooter that has players explore Isaac's dungeon-like basement, as he discovers bizarre treasures that give him super human abilities that allow him to fight off droves of monsters.

The Binding of Isaac was rereleased in 2014 as The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. The rerelease added a wealth of content, including an all-new soundtrack and all-new hand-drawn pixel style artwork. A year later, a new expansion, entitled Afterbirth, was released for The Binding of Isaac. Afterbirth added over 100 hours of additional gameplay, new modes, and new challenges. It also added new chapters to the game's story, and new playable characters.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. Repentance will release on March 31st.
