However, there's one change launching this October that you'll want to keep an eye out for, even though it has nothing to do with new content, as it will affect every single Pokémon GO player when it goes live.
On October 15th, 2025, Pokémon GO will be releasing an update designed to rebalance trainer leveling. The leveling cap will be raised from 50 to 80, and the XP required for each level will be adjusted, meaning that every player's level is likely to change. However, as a result of this change, Pokémon GO is giving you one last chance to accrue as much XP as you can before the update takes place.
As mentioned, the biggest change happening as part of this leveling update is the change in level cap. Rather than capping out at level 50, players will now have the ability to cap out at level 80.
