A new rumor indicates that a Nintendo Direct could take place in mid-September. Not much is known about this possible Nintendo event, but it would likely come with exciting announcements for Switch 2 owners.

2025 has certainly been a huge year for Nintendo with the release of the Switch 2 back in June. The Nintendo Switch 2 sold over six million units in less than two months after its launch, exceeding Nintendo’s expectations. However, the console is still lacking a variety of first-party exclusives, with Mario Kart World and the more recent Donkey Kong Bananza being the highlights of the platform.

Now, new reports have suggested that a Nintendo Direct could take place in September. Initially, Switch Force claimed on social media that a presentation would be set for September 12, hinting that it could explain why Nintendo did not announce more games during the latest Nintendo Direct. The information was corroborated by VGC, whose sources confirmed that a Nintendo Direct is “planned for mid-September.” However, VCG’s sources did not confirm September 12 as the actual event date.
