Yoshi-P Confirms FFXIV Won't Repeat Dawntrail's Biggest Mistake

Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida, better known as Yoshi-P, may have just brightened fans' hopes for the future of the game, as he has now confirmed that future content patches will not repeat a major Dawntrail mistake. The recently released Patch 7.3 concluded the Dawntrail story arc, and with that, the fans and developers are looking to the game's future.

In a new interview with Feed4Gamers, Yoshi-P spoke extensively about content additions coming soon to the popular MMO, and also confirmed that Patch 7.4 and Patch 7.5 will not introduce a new character that will become the "central" character in the next expansion, saying: "No. If I say too much it's going to be a spoiler, so I won't say that much. But in patches 7.4 and 7.5 we are going to be moving towards a new big story arc."

Wuk Lamat being the central character for Dawntrail and the patch quest storyline garnered a mixed response from fans, with some feeling she was overly used. Her role in Patch 7.4, 7.5, and future content remains to be seen, but it looks like we won't be seeing another new character take over as the lead...
