Your COD Black Ops 6 Investment Is Worth Nothing in Black Ops 7, But There's A Good Reason

Many player purchases won't be available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The next game in the long-running CoD franchise is set to go into early access soon, and Activision is beginning to set player expectations. That manifested itself today in a frustrating, but ultimately important announcement about the nature of cosmetic items in Black Ops 7.

Per a new post on the official Call of Duty website, "Operators, Operator Skins, and Weapons from Black Ops 6 will no longer carry forward into Black Ops 7." All player purchases in these categories will remain available in Black Ops 6 for the foreseeable future, but you'll have to buy their Black Ops 7 equivalent if you want to continue using them in the new game.

Only those three item types have been impacted by the change: Operators, skins, and weapons will not transfer, but Double XP tokens and GobbleGums will still carry over into Black Ops 7 as normal.
