Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi has officially dashed the hopes of fans to see the return of a classic RE character in the long-awaited game. Requiem will see newcomer Grace Ashcroft, daughter of RE Outbreak's Alyssa Ashcroft, step into the starring role, and it remains to be seen if other new characters will be revealed, but there's now one character that definitely won't be in the game.
In an interview on Den Famico Gamer (text in Japanese and translated by Genki on X), Nakanishi has confirmed that the monster chasing Grace in the game's trailers is not Lisa Trevor. He also confirms the sound effects being used for the creature in the revealed promotional material are actually a work-in-progress and are based on Lisa Trevor's voice in Resident Evil 1 remake, but the creature isn't her.
Nakanishi joked that it was "fine to use this as the headline of the article.
