Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed.
On Twitter, it was announced that Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed into 2022. The game was originally planned to release this year. According to the tweet, the game was delayed in order to give the team behind it the time that they need to create the best possible experience.
"We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label," reads the tweet. "Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.
"Hogwarts Legacy will be released in 2022."
Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set within the Harry Potter universe. Players are able to take control of the action and be at the center of their own adventure in the wizarding world. During their journey through Hogwarts, players will explore locations both new and familiar, and discover fantastic beasts. They will be able to customize their character, craft potions, master spell casting, upgrade talents and become the wizard that they want to be.
Hogwarts Legacy allows players to experience the wizarding school in the 1800s. Their character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Players have received a late acceptance into Hogwarts, the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and soon discover that they are no ordinary student. They possess the ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic. Only they can decide if they will protect this secret for the good of all, or give into the temptation of more sinister magic.
Hogwarts Legacy will now release in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
