Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida, better known as Yoshi-P, may have dropped a subtle hint that players may not need to worry too much about when the next expansion might release. Last night, Yoshi-P released a statement about why FF14 and Square Enix removed and banned the popular Mare Synchronos mod from the game, and at the end of that statement, he addressed some other fan concerns, too.
At the end of the statement from Yoshi-P on Final Fantasy 14 Lodestone, the beloved director had a parenthetical send-off message for readers and fans. It reads: "(And one more thing: for those wondering what comes after the Japan Fan Fest...while I can't give any details just yet, rest assured you won't have to wait long.)" This was in response to fan concern that the late 2026 Japan Fan Fest date would mean a potential mid-2027 release for the next expansion.
