ConcernedApe Officially Confirms Another Stardew Valley Update

Stardew Valley has nearly a decade of updates behind it, but creator ConfirmedApe has finally confirmed that it's not over yet. While ConcernedApe (real name Eric Barone) is currently hard at work on his next game, Haunted Chocolatier, he's never left the development of Stardew Valley entirely behind. The last major update, 1.6, released in 2024 and added new events, dialogues, an additional farm type, and more.

At a live Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons performance, ConcernedApe announced that "there's gonna be another update," as recorded in a TikTok video by jillbobagginz. ConcernedApe shares that he was initially uncertain about doing another update, but the crowd cheers as he reveals that he made up his mind. He calls it "kind of a secret," but with a video of the announcement quickly circulating, the cat is definitively out of the bag.

ConcernedApe yet hasn't provided any details about what to expect from a future Stardew Valley update. This is, however, the first time that he's definitively stated the existence of update plans, presumably confirming that a full 1.7 patch will eventually arrive.
