Escape From Tarkov has finally confirmed its long-awaited Steam release after eight years in early access away from the platform. However, the Escape From Tarkov Steam release date is yet to be revealed by developer Battlestate Games.
Multiplayer extraction shooter Escape From Tarkov has gained a dedicated community outside of Steam in the years following its July 2017 early access launch. The game offers a hardcore shooter experience, and fills a niche that few other games in the FPS genre can live up to. Battlestate Games has done a good job updating and changing Escape From Tarkov with major new patches, keeping it fresh in anticipation of its full launch.
In a post on X, Battlestate Studios head Nikita Buyanov finally confirmed that the game's Steam page "will be available soon," mentioning that more concrete details will come later. It's rare to see a game take off as well as Escape From Tarkov has on PC, especially when it's not available on any of the main distribution platforms. An Escape From Tarkov Steam release could definitely do wonders for its long-term health, so it'll be interesting to see how it fares.
