Since its release earlier this week, there's been a lot of online discourse surrounding Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and most of it hasn't been of the positive variety. The game is reportedly a mess on PC and PlayStation 5, calling into question Unreal Engine 5's status. Thankfully, the modding community has already stepped up to fix the game before Konami.

Elsewhere, Delta: Snake Eater's limited Collector's Edition has been the subject of memes over its extremely low-budget materials, despite costing $200. Now, the discourse has shifted to whether the game should even exist at all.

Over on Twitter, mora, a Metal Gear fan, started a discussion about the faithfulness of the Snake Eater remake, and whether it was ultimately needed. Specifically, if the original game is considered so perfect, and the remake is nearly 1:1, what improvements are being made?

In response, multiple fans suggested that the original Metal Gear Solid or Sons of Liberty should've been remade instead, since they feel the oldest by modern standards. Naturally, Guns of the Patriots also received a shoutout since it's still locked on the PS3.
