Genshin Impact is celebrating the New Year.
On the PlayStation Blog, it was revealed that Genshin Impact's next update, Version 1.3, will release on February 3rd. One of the main additions in this update will be the Lantern Rite event. Those who participate have the opportunity to earn over 1,600 Primogems, a free four-star Liyue character, and more. The Lantern Rite festival will last a few days, and will have a number of activities for players to participate in.
The Lantern Rite event will be made up of three stages. Each stage will have a series of requests from citizens to help them get ready for the Lantern Rite. As players complete requests, their Festive Fever level will rise, unlocking further quests and stories. The grand finale of the event will come on the final night, when countless lanterns will be released into the sky.
There will also be festival exclusive games, snacks, and activities available during the event. The highlight of these activities is Theater Mechanicus, a tower defense strategy game that can be played solo or with friends. Beating the game at different levels will earn players Peace Talismans, which can be spent at the Xiao Market for rewards including the Crown of Insight, and new namecard style, and more. There will also be the "Five Flushes of Fortune" event, which will have players take photos of specific targets, which can be traded in for treasures.
Version 1.3 of Genshin Impact also includes a new proposition from Katheryne of the Adventurers' Guild. In "Vishaps and Where to Find Them," players can investigate expeditions to hunt down the Geovishaps threatening Liyue in exchange for rewards. Players must be Adventure Rank 20 in order to take on the quest. It was also revealed that there will be a daily login event in which players can obtain a total of 10 free Intertwined Fate, and an event challenge offering the chance to win a four-star Liyue character of their choice.
Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and mobile devices.
