Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was one of 2025's most anticipated titles. As a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, completely rebuilt from the ground up, the title offers fans of the series, both new and old, the opportunity to experience a classic Kojima title in all of its modern glory — but its launch hasn't been without its problems.

Shortly after release, fans suggested that the game should have been delayed due to its terrible Unreal Engine 5 optimization, leading the community to come together and fix the issues themselves. The game's Collector's Edition was also mocked for looking nothing like Snake, and its unwillingness to deviate from the original has led fans to question whether the remake was even necessary.

It seems like these early complaints have caused the game to struggle on PC, with Delta: Snake Eater only hitting 22 percent of the players that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain managed at launch.
